Multiple Sclerosis (MS)

My name is Robin Dutton and I used to have Multiple Sclerosis. I say used to because I believe wholeheartedly that I am cured or I am well on my way to being cured.

Most people get scared and suspicious when you use the word cured, especially when you have been diagnosed with an incurable disease.

When I was 19 years old, a tick bit me and two days later experienced numbness in my right arm and hand. These symptoms continued for three months, developing increasing difficulty with all motor skills. I also started having severe headaches. After three months, I was referred by my doctor to an infectious disease specialist. He ran several tests and treated me for Lyme’s disease. I was told that I was cured yet I suffered about every two months with numbness and motor coordination. Over the years I saw several neurologists. All agreed that I had Lyme and maybe Multiple Sclerosis (MS). I decided I would just have to live with these inconveniences.

Over time I began to become worse and suffer from severe fatigue. I also suffered once from optic neuritis losing 70% of my vision in one eye, which I now know, was my MS. Seven months after my first child was born, I found myself walking into walls, slightly dragging my right leg and having sharp pains in my head. I decided to check out my condition further when I dropped my new baby while placing him in the crib. Fortunately, he landed on the mattress but now more than ever I need my body to work correctly.

My husband is a medical doctor and a medical missionary in Brazil. He took me to the best neurologist in Sao Paulo who is also the head of the MS Society in Brazil. He determined after two spinal taps and two MRIs that I did have MS which had been dormant but was activated when I contracted Lyme Disease. He treated me with Cortisone, which helped me get out of bed after being there two months. During my yearlong treatment with this doctor, I had facial paralysis and also had slight trouble speaking.

I became pregnant with my second child and went through the pregnancy just fine but my doctor’s plans were to put me on Copaxone immediately after I weaned the baby. I refused; I did not want to take it. I couldn’t see the proof for the benefits.

I had learned about Sierra Integrative Medical Center (SIMC) from my sister in Christ, Joy Graham. I wanted to come and when my grandfather passed away he left my family the money to do just that. My husband being a non-homeopathic doctor, was leery about us coming but I really wanted to, so we did. It was a family effort. We came from Brazil and my parents came from Oklahoma to take care of the kids.

During these six weeks of treatment my husband observed. As the doctors explained, my husband told me that everything made perfect scientific and medical sense. He really began to believe when he saw the changes in me. I had more energy and no pain or headaches after just two weeks. We were so thankful. So very thankful!

After six weeks of treatment I knew I would never again have to fear being paralyzed. I would never again cry at night because I was exhausted, and would enjoy my life and my health.

Everyone sees how good I feel – people even say it’s changed my appearance. It should because I felt terrible for nine years and now I feel great! It would even be scary to feel any better.
